3 Panel Scenery Z-fold cards

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I have been attending weekly card classes for a long time, learning lots of techniques and more recently, fun fold cards. Today I’m sharing two cards that I started at one of these classes and finished at home. I use the classes as a reason to dig into my stash of patterned paper and to bring out some old products that I can’t part with yet.

For both of these cards I started with panels of 6″ x 6″ patterned paper from the Meandering Meadows pack on White Willow card bases. For this first card I used the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set to stamp both the greeting and decorative hexagon border in Garden Green ink on white card and punched out the shape with the Heartfelt Hexagon punch. The greenery that is tucked behind the greeting shape has been stamped with images from the Layering Leaves stamp set and punched out with the coordinating Bough punch. The greenery on the far right of the card base is an image from the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set.

For the second card I chose another sheet of the patterned paper that had more blues than greens. For the greeting I chose to use Garden Green ink for the decorative edge and Blueberry Bushel for the greeting, and again used the hexagon punch. This time the shape is in a horizontal orientation. I repeated the same greenery as for the first card, but used Fresh Freesia ink for the little buds stamp instead of Daffodil Delight ink.

In the classes that I go to everyone brings their own supplies, so there are lots of variations of the same basic card idea. The shape for the greeting could be a circle, square, rectangle, or any basic shape to create a label.

I’ve listed the supplies I’ve used below. The punches, stamps and Designer Series Paper are retired.
