I created these cards for a class featuring stamps, dies, embossing folder and patterned paper from the Kintsugi Inspirations suite of products from Stampin’ Up! These products make it easy to create elegant and peaceful birthday, get well, or sympathy cards.
For the first card I was inspired by a design made by Susan Campfield, a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in the USA. I adapted the design to suit the standard Australian card size, which is A6, or 14.8cm x 10.5cm for the base, using Misty Moonlight cardstock.
I cut 2 strips of one sheet of the gorgeous Kintsugi Inspirations Designer Series Paper to fit on each end of the base, and sponged the edges of the paper with Misty Moonlight ink using a dauber. There is a central piece of Basic White card that forms a concertina style hinge and the front panel is attached to that. On the front panel I adhered another design from the paper pack, sponging the same blue ink around the edges to add a subtle shading.
The vase on the front of the card and the cup on the inside panel are die cut from another sheet of the Designer Series paper with the coordinating dies from the set. The dies also include a couple of fracture lines, which look very effective when die cut from gold foil card. I added one of the fracture lines to the vase to add texture. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of Basic White and die cut with a label die, also in the set. The gold Flower Accents finish off the front of the card.

For the second card I was inspired by Dani Gurrola, another Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in the USA. Again, I adapted the card size to suit the standard size used in Australia. For the background panel I embossed a piece of Misty Moonlight card using the Joined Together 3D embossing folder, after swiping the folder with Misty Moonlight ink before putting the card inside. This pressed the ink into the indented image on the card panel with a two-tone effect.
I used 2 of the rectangle dies from the Textured Notes die set to create the frame from Cloud Cover card, and die cut the vase shape from the same piece. On the vase shape I stamped the flower image in Versamark and sprinkled gold embossing powder over before heat setting it with a heat tool. I added a fracture line that was die cut from gold foil card. The flowers were die cut from White card and popped up on foam Dimensionals that were cut in half. The Flower Accents hide the dimensionals underneath.
For the third card in this set I was inspired by Terri Gaines, another Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in the USA. for this card I die cut the frame using one of the Framed Scene dies from a Lost Lagoon card panel. I also die cut the vase and cup shapes from this panel to provide shadows behind the coloured in images. Both were stamped on Basic White in Lost Lagoon ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers in Pool Party and Petal Pink. The flower was also stamped on white and die cut with the matching die. The white background panel is embossed with the Joined Together 3D embossing folder.
