Double Front Flap card

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Last night I had the opportunity to to join in with a mystery stamping project with a group of crafters. Everyone used different products from their stash, so it was great to see the variations.

I made this fun fold card with a mixture of old and newer products.

It is basically a tent fold card using a standard card base, with an extra mini card attached to the front. When the front flap is lifted there is an embossed panel underneath, which covers the back of the mini card that is attached to the front. I used Night of Navy cardstock for the card base and mini card. A panel of patterned paper is glued to the card base, I used a piece cut from one of the sheets from Meandering Meadows 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I then adhered the folded mini card so that it lines up with the bottom edge of the card base. The square white panel is embossed using a new 3D embossing folder called Softly Woven, that will be available from September 1.

Then the card base opens to show the inside writing panel. I stamped one of the smaller foliage images on the Basic White panel and adhered it to the inside of the card.

For the Basic White panel on the front of the card I stamped the large foliage image using Fresh Freesia ink, and also stamped the greeting on a small scrap of white in the same colour. I sponged the edges of the greeting with the same colour ink using a dauber. I finished off the card with a few gems from my stash.

Here are the measurements given (I used metric):

Coloured cardstock – 21cm x 14.8cm or 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

Basic White – 14.5cm x 10.2cm or 5 1/4″ x 4″

Patterned paper – 14.5cm x 10.2cm or 5 1/4″ x 4″

Basic White – 10.2cm x 10.2cm or 4″ x 4″

Basic White – 10.2cm x 7.9cm or 3 7/8″ x 3 1/8″

Coloured Cardstock – 8.2cm x 20cm (scored at 10.5cm) or 7 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ (scored at 4″)

Basic White for stamping.

This card can be created using any patterned paper and stamps to suit any occasion.
