Thanks for stopping by my blog today. It’s time for another Stamping with Friends blog hop, if you’ve come from Nancy Reynold’s blog, welcome!
Our blog hop theme this time is our own choice, so I decided to go with a card I made recently using the Sweet Little Stockings bundle.
It’s a fun fold card I made in a class I go to on Fridays. The card opens up like this:
The card is basically a Z fold panel inside a standard card.
You can choose to make this style of card in different sizes (slimline or square) by adjusting the measurements.
Choose the card base size, cut cardstock to this size – I cut mine 8″ x 6″ and scored and folded to 6″ x 4″. The inside Z fold panel is created from a piece of Designer Series Paper that is 1/8″ smaller on both the long and short side. Mine was 7-7/8″ x 5-7/8″. then the paper is folded in half (valley fold) and then the right panel is folded back (mountain fold).
For the front of the card I cut another piece of Designer Series Paper 1/4″ smaller than the card front to leave a border. I used Multipurpose Liquid glue to adhere it to the card front, after sponging the edges with Pool Party ink using a dauber.
I then chose 2 of the Layering Circle dies, and used the larger one to cut a window out of the card front (through both layers of paper and cardstock), as well as cutting another one from black cardstock.
I cut a smaller circle out of Basic White and glued that to the centre of the black circle. To make sure the circle lined up with the front window, I adhered the DSP panel to the inside of the card, folded it into the Z fold, then placed the circle through the window while the card was closed.
I stamped the cat’s head and stockings in Memento ink onto scraps of Basic White and coloured them with Stampin’ Blends. Then I die cut them with the matching dies and adhered them to the circle, letting the stocking hang off the edge. I finished the card with one of the greetings from the set plus a few Matte Decorative Dots.
Now hop on over to Terry Montgomery’s blog to continue on the hop!
