Hi,
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I’m taking part in Bruno and Kylie Bertucci’s Demonstrator Training Program blog hop showcasing thank you cards for customers. Make sure you hop through the links below to be inspired by lots of card ideas from Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.
I have been playing with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers on Vellum Cardstock, and dabbing isopropyl alcohol on the colours to create cool effects. This technique is popular at the moment, so I’ve created lots of different backgrounds.
I decided to turn these into customer thank you cards by adding the sentiment to the card and not much else, so that the background technique takes centre stage.
For this rainbow card I scribbled Stampin’ Blends Alcohol markers in diagonal stripes on a piece of Vellum Cardstock. The colours I used are (the dark shade of each): Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Shaded Spruce, Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Polished Pink. I then dipped a paint brush into 100% isopropyl alcohol that I had in a small cup, and dabbed it on the scribbled stripes and let the alcohol do it’s magic. When I was happy with the result I left the piece to dry. I trimmed the Vellum to 10cm x 14.3cm.
I stamped the greeting from the Biggest Wish stamp set in Memento black ink onto an offcut strip of Basic White cardstock, and the bubbles from the Seascape stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink. I trimmed the strip to 10cm wide and glued it to the vellum with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then on the back of the vellum, behind the greeting strip, I applied more glue and adhered the panel to the card front. I added a few Opal Rounds for bling.

isopropyl alcohol must get me some of that. Beautiful card. Pretty colours, lovely design. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Sandie, make sure you get at least 91% isopropyl alcohol or it won't work. I used 99% alcohol on mine.
