Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Today I’m joining in with the Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop for June, and the theme is In-Colour Inspiration.
If you’ve come from another blog on the hop, welcome! I’m Tina Hewett from Adelaide Australia. To see the rest of the blogs in the hop, please see the list below.
Here’s my card:
I love background stamps and trying different ways to use them on cards. For this large Daisy Garden stamp I could have just stamped the whole image on white and coloured it with Stampin’ Blends, and it would look lovely by itself. I decided to try a variation of the spotlight technique.
I stamped it on a background panel of Soft Succulent cardstock, one of the new 2021-2023 In-colours. I stamped the image using my Stamparatus to ensure I got full coverage of ink, using Soft Succulent ink for a tone-on-tone effect. I used a Blending Brush to apply ink around the edges of the panel.
I then placed a Basic White piece in the Stamparatus and stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, so that I could line it up with the background image. I used Stampin’ Blends in Pale Papaya from the new 2021-2023 In-colours, and Cinnamon Cider and Just Jade from the 2020-2022 In-colours. I’m by no means an expert in colouring, but I’m happy with the results. I matted this focal piece onto a slightly larger piece of Basic Black cardstock and used Liquid Multipurpose Glue to add it to the card front, using the glue’s wiggle room to give me time to line it up with the background.
The greeting is from the Daisy Lane stamp set, stamped in Memento ink onto a scrap of white and the edges sponged with Soft Succulent ink. I used Dimensionals to raise the greeting and then added a few Champagne Rhinestones for bling.
Thank you for visiting. To carry on with your hop, here is the list…
