Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
I thought I would share another set of cards from a recent class, featuring stamps and dies which are retiring soon.
The Floating & Fluttering stamp set and die bundle will be retiring on June 30 and are available only while stocks last.
For the first card I created the feature panel by laying a couple of torn pieces of copy paper over the top and bottom of a piece of Basic White cardstock to create masks, securing them with painter’s tape to my work surface. I then used Blender Brushes to apply my ink on the Basic White panel, starting on the copy paper and using a circular motion. I used Polished Pink and Gorgeous Grape inks. When I was happy with that I stamped the cluster of butterflies in Memento Tuxedo Black ink across the panel.
When the copy paper masks were removed there was a lovely purple and pink inked area on the white panel that looks like an extra layer, but isn’t.
I stamped the greeting from the Garden Wishes stamp set in Memento black ink and matted the panel onto a layer of Gorgeous Grape cardstock and then added it to the card front. A butterfly die cut from the Brilliant Wings die set and a rhinestone finishes off the card.
For the second card I used made a standard A6 card base from Blushing Bride cardstock. I used the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder to emboss a piece of Basic White cardstock to create the background layer.
I stamped the cluster of butterflies and greenery with Memento black ink on Basic White and used the filler stamps in various colours to colour the images. This was then die cut with the matching die. I used the label die in the set to die cut the Blushing Bride label shape under the butterflies. I layered these on top of a Vellum Doily that I had sponged with Blushing Bride ink using a dauber. The greeting from the Blossoms In Bloom stamp set was stamped with Blushing Bride on a strip of Basic White, and the edges were inked with Blushing Bride ink.
For the third card I stamped the cluster of butterflies several times on a panel of Basic White in Memento Black ink and coloured the outline images with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. This was then layered onto a mat of Basic Black and onto a Granny Apple Green card base. The greeting from the Forever Fern stamp set was stamped with Memento Black ink onto a piece of Basic White and punched with a circle punch. This was layered onto a slightly larger Granny Apple Green circle.
