Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Today I’m joining in with another blog hop with Kylie’s awesome Demonstrator Training group. There’s lots to see today, so be sure to check out everyone’s blog.

I had a new customer ask me about how to use vellum on cards, so I created a class showing different ways of using vellum, including embossing and colouring.

I used the gorgeous large floral image from the All That You Are stamp set and inked it up in Versamark before stamping it on the Vellum Cardstock. I then sprinkled on white embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool. The Vellum cardstock is a thicker vellum and can take the heat from the heat tool without warping, as long as you don’t hold the heat tool too close or in one spot for too long.

Then I used Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers to colour in the image on the back of the vellum. I used Light and Dark Lovely Lipstick, Light and Dark Mossy Meadow and Dark Daffodil Delight. Tip: if you do a whoopsie and go a bit over the line with your colouring, you can use the Colour Lifter to remove the colour so it doesn’t show on the front.

I’m really happy with how the colouring turned out, it’s much smoother than using regular brush markers.

Here’s the finished card:

I matted the vellum piece onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, using a few Mini Glue Dots behind the coloured flowers to anchor it in place. I also used a strip of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to hold the vellum to the mat by wrapping it around both layers and adhering it to the back. I then used Multi-purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the the matted panel to the Lovely Lipstick card base.

To finish off the card I stamped the Happy Birthday greeting in Lovely Lipstick ink onto an offcut strip of Whisper White and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the ribbon.

I hope you enjoy hopping around today to see all the lovely ideas everyone is sharing. Here is the list:
