Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I’m participating for the first time in the Joy of Sets blog hop, and the theme for January is to make an easel fold card using something we have received free.
With Stampin’ Up’s Sale-a-Bration promotion on at the moment, I may have received one or two freebies with my orders. 😊
For my contribution I decided to use the Lovely Lattice stamp set, which has a gorgeous large floral image which can be coloured using your favourite medium. If you are in Australia you can get this stamp set for free with a $90 order of anything from the Annual Catalogue or the new Occasions Catalogue.
I decided to do a bit of watercolouring for this one, using my Aqua Painters to pick up ink from the lid of the ink pads. The colours I used are Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive and Pacific Point.
I first stamped the image with StazOn ink onto Shimmery White cardstock, which is great for watercolouring. For the watercolouring I applied a light shade (ie watered down) first, then painted over areas with more ink to give some depth. I finished off a couple of the flower centres by colouring them in with a Daffodil Delight marker.
Once the colouring was done and dry I stamped the sentiment from the Humming Along stamp set in Pacific Point ink. The watercolour panel was matted onto a piece of Pacific Point and then onto the easel front piece.
On the inside of the card I matted another piece of Shimmery White onto Pacific Point so it matched the outside. I stamped the short lacy strip onto a strip of Shimmery White in Pacific Point ink and matted that onto a wider strip of Pacific Point cardstock. This strip was then mounted with foam Dimensionals about 1/3 down from the top (of the inside) to provide the means for helping the easel to stand up.
Here are the measurements of the pieces:
Thick Whisper White card base: 29.6cm x 10.5cm, scored on the long side at 7.4cm and 14.8cm
Thick Whisper White easel piece: 14.8cm x 10.5cm
Pacific Point: 2 pieces 13.8cm x 9.5cm
Shimmery White: 2 pieces 13.3cm x 9cm
OK, so now it’s onto the next blog in the hop to see what Vicki Milyard has created. Click on the purple Next arrow to go there. Or click on the Previous arrow to go to Jane Allmark’s blog. Have fun!
