Today’s card is one that my friend Jenny showed us how to do at a recent get-together.
To create the block of colour behind the stamped image I first swiped a Daffodil Delight stamp pad across the bottom part of the H acrylic block, then swiped the Berry Burst stamp pad across the top part, so that the whole acrylic block was covered in ink. Then I spritzed the block with water using a spritzer, and put the block carefully ink side down on the Whisper White panel. I let it sit for a couple of minutes for the colour to absorb into the paper. Then I carefully removed the block to leave the coloured rectangle.
This technique will give a different result every time, depending on how much water you use. Mine is a little patchy, but that adds to the effect, and I knew I was going to stamp over the top so I wasn’t too worried about it.
Once the inked part was dry I stamped one of the Silhouette images from the Wild about Flowers stamp set over the top, and the sentiment from the Climbing Orchid stamp set in the lower right corner of the panel. I used Black Archival ink for the stamping.
To finish the card I layered the stamped panel onto a Basic Black mat and then to the Berry Burst card front.
Here are the supplies I used, if you’d like to purchase any, please click on the image and then you will be taken to my online shop.
