Today’s card is one we made at a recent “shoe-box” swap, or get-together with my demonstrator friends. We meet once per month and each come up with a project, and provide the supplies for the others to make the card.

The card started out as a standard A5 (14.8cm x 21cm) scored and folded to 14.8cm x 10.5cm of Thick Whisper White cardstock. But then 1.5cm was trimmed from the front right edge, so that you can see the strip of patterned paper that is attached to the right edge on the inside of the card.

The Happy Birthday is actually 2 of the thinlit dies layered on top of each other. The one underneath is cut from Early Espresso and the top one is cut from Gold Foil. Here’s a close-up so you can see the shadow.

For the background I used an aquapainter to apply a quick colour wash of Pool Party ink. The daisy is stamped in Early Espresso on a piece from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series paper pack and cut out using the Daisy punch.

The centre is gold embossed on Early Espresso cardstock and cut out using a 1/2″ circle punch.

Here are the supplies used to make this card:
